My poor camera. It’s been through a lot. It’s an older camera at this point, and when it was brand new, it was pretty decent, but after being dropped, bumped, and just generally USED a lot… It’s had a lot of damage. Continue reading
PerpetualRP Podcast Flash
My friends Sean and Sean have started to do a podcast related to Tabletop Role-Playing Games, it’s called The PerpetualRP podcast.
I made a silly little “Powered By The Cheat” style animation using the very beginning of it… This took me about three hours, and then I got sick of dealing with it. Even crappy animation takes forever, and they’ve redone all the actionscript in such a way as to have made it so much more complex, and I don’t understand it at all. Ah well. Continue reading
It’s Time for DEEP FRIED EVERYTHING!
For Christmas last year, many of the three of you reading this may recall, I got a gift card for Amazon.com from Karen. I spent most of it on a deep fryer which, when it arrived, was DOA. The light came on, but the element never heated up. I returned it to Amazon, and since they were out of stock, I got my money back instead of an exchange, and wound up buying some other things instead, which included a cookbook for deep-fried foods, actually.

reCAPTCHA installed to deal with spam
Having logged in today after a fairly long hiatus and having to deal with 158 spam comments (many of which simply said “Comment2,” and one of which was five very long paragraphs containing several URLs for different products), I finally went ahead and installed the reCAPTCHA plugin. Frankly I don’t get that many people visiting, but I am getting a lot of spambots. Hopefully this will solve the issue. And, in the meantime, I’m helping out a good cause by using it. Fundraiser Auction
A man named Paul Hanley is auctioning off this original drawing he has done of the current Doctor Who actor Matt Smith and some of The Doctor’s companions. The auction is to help a friend of his who recently lost his home, and it’s your chance to own a pretty darn nice piece of original Doctor Who fan art. Not interested in buying? Too poor? Help spread the word anyway, it’s for a good cause. If you’re interested, you can check out the auction here.
Rainbow Cake for Peggy
I made a rainbow cake awhile back – which I blogged about on Lyndse’s food blog, Mutual Mastication - and Lyndse was so impressed with it, she asked if I would be willing to make another one for her friend Peggy’s birthday, which was just this weekend. I said I’d be happy to, and the next time I was at the store, I bought a lemon cake mix for just that purpose. How does one make a rainbow cake, you might ask? well! Read on, and I’ll tell you. PayPal birthday computer fund
My computer is old. It’s not THAT old, it’s maybe four to six years old – but I’ve upgraded the video card and the memory as far as my motherboard will allow, and some of the newer features of Second Life (from which I make a small amount of money) will not work on my computer (In one case, Second Life crashes rather spectacularly). It’s very frustrating, and it is keeping me from being able to work on some things that would really help my Second Life store. Continue reading
Birthday!
My birthday is this Saturday, but I’ve already received one of the best birthday presents ever – Calista (one of my housemates) has officially given me her cat, Blue. This wasn’t an easy decision for her, because she loves him, but Blue, who was formerly feral, is terrified of most people, including – unfortunately – Calista. He’s only comfortable in either my room or Lyndse’s room, and he has recently become close friends with my cat Boris. I already love the little guy, and it makes me happy that he’s now my responsibility. I’ll take good care of him.
In other news, I’ve been running around like crazy today (and plan to for the next couple of days as well) to get things ready for the little party I’m having here. Continue reading
